Seconds tighten grip on 2nd place
The seconds continued their upward trajectory when they tightened their grip on second place with a great 2-0 against Moneyslane in Rathfriland.
The Colts were terrific in the first half with some great passing football and had raced into a two-goal lead by the interval.
The opening goal was a great team effort with Eoin madden breaking into the box and his shot cum cross was met at the back post by youngster Caleb Keating who finished with some aplomb.
The second was a 25 yard screamer by Nico McDaid following a clever pass by Michael Deeny.
Moneyslane fought back in the second half but were kept at bay with no nonsense defending, with Joe Sweeney back after injury playing a major part. Eoin McDonnell, Michael Deeny and Nico McDaid were excellent in midfield but it was Conor O’Toole who edged man of the match from his defensive partner Jack Crompton.
