Colts crashed out of another cup tournament despite dominating most of the game against St Matthews.
They went one down early on from a wonder goal by the big striker after 15 minutes but had plenty of chances to equalise before the break.
Niall McArdle broke on the right and had a great chance to score but couldn’t get his shot away,
Then Darragh Brownlee got for inside the box and with Sean Irwin lurking for a tap in took on two defenders and brilliantly beat them only to shoot wide with a gaping goal having done the hard bit.
Next up was Rory McDonnell who headed over from a Brownlee corner and these missed chances were to prove fatal.
Despite probing and leadership from man of the match Marc Hegney, whose range of passing was superb, and the hard working Irwin, the Colts were unable to get back into the game.
And deep into the second half as Colts threw men forward to try to retrieve the game the home team fired home from a free kick to out the game beyond reach.
