Firsts lose at The Valley
St.Mary’s 5 – 2 Carryduff Colts
It was a day to forget at Valley Leisure Centre in a tetchy affair that the Colts lost heavily in the league.
After taking the lead in the first minute from a throw-in from McEvoy which St.Mary’s right back headed into his own net, it all went down hill after that.
They struggled to control the St.Mary’s number 7 who was strolling through at will and it lead to a penalty for their equaliser.
Then a moment of madness from McNally reduced the Colts to ten men and St.Mary’s dominance took over with another 4 unanswered goals.
Then it was St.Mary’s who had a man sent off for raising a hand to Docherty which evened the numbers up.
After the break the Colts changed system to 3-4-2 which allowed Irwin to move back up front and shortly after the break they got a goal back from the hard working Maguire.
The Colts kept pressing and were much the better team in the second half but sadly there were no further goals so The Colts need to bounce back next weekend to keep their season alive as far as the league goes.
