The First lose out to St Matts
Carryduff Colts 0 v 1 St.Matthews
In a tight affair at Loughmoss St Matts came out on top by a single goal scored after the break by young Burns.
A game of few chances for either team as The Colts tried to suffocate St Matts forward play which was working superbly until 65 minutes when it looked like McEvoy was clearly pushed in the back in midfield but the referee played on which decided the game after St Matts went on to score.
Defensively The Colts worked really hard with the back four of Sweeney, McDonnell, O Toole and Murphy clearing most things with McCann having to make one save with his feet.
The middle five also deserve great credit for suffocating St Matts free flowing football with McEvoy, Magee and Maguire, McNally and young Sherry you sadly had to come off after getting injured but was a constant threat up to that point.
DA who had a couple of free kicks that went so close “ran” the line well up front on his own.
Big Jack who came on at half time for the impressive Maguire who picked up an injury and it was Big Jack that nearly scored with a point blank header but their keeper saved to deny the big midfielder.
Unfortunately St Matts held out for a valuable 3 points in their quest for promotion.
After match hospitality was provided by our friends at The Parador.
McCann, Sweeney, McDonnell, O Toole, Murphy, McNally, McEvoy, Maguire (Crompton), Magee, Sherry (Duncan) Brownlee, Mullholland
