On Saturday 26th November 2016, the 2008 boys played superbly in a very tough game against Andersonstown Celtic. Owen, Noah, Ciaran, Cain, Jack McD, Luke S, Ben and Wiktor all played fantastically well, having to battle very hard right to the final whistle!
Luke S was amazing in nets, with a few spectacular saves and was fantastic in 1 to 2 situations with the Andersonstown attackers who found it very hard to get past him!
Noah, Ciaran and Ben all played excellently in defence throughout the game and kept the tricky Andersonstown strikers quiet for the first few periods with some excellent tacking. Ben even got on the scoresheet with a great goal and Ciaran’s trademark runs up he right wing set up a few goals today !!
Owen and Jack bossed the midfield and were the heartbeat of the team today – Jacks tackling, tracking back and breaking up attacks was superb and Owen was absolutely outstanding as his midfield partner in his usual attacking midfield role. The dynamic duo scored 6 goals also from midfield which was excellent!!
Cain and Wiktor were superb at leading the line today and defended superbly from the front win a high tempo pressing game and holding up the ball to allow Owen and Jack to break from midfield.
Wiktors tackling game was great today – he pressed continuously which is exactly what we needed in a tough game and Cain was absolutely outstanding in defence in the final period when the boys were under massive pressure.
Well done boys for such a determined performance!!
