A fantastic result by Carryduff 2007s on Saturday 22nd October after a hard fought game against a very talented Celtic Boys team. It has been a tough start to the season with some truly excellent performances not resulting in wins that the boys deserved.
It was clear from the side the hard work put in by the coaching staff was paying off with an excellent all round performance by everyone today. Great work rate and fantastic passing saw the young lions take an early lead with the quick and tricky Cain bursting down the left and squeezing in a goal at the near post. Carryduff were unlucky not to extend their lead with chances falling to the always excellent Oisin and marauding midfielder Eoin. Dan in midfield won every ball and showed lovely touches to set up yet more chances, with Josh, the wizard on the wing, terrorising the defence.
At the back nothing was getting past the fantastic Harry and Jude and any chances going Celtic Boys way were denied by super shot stopper Rory. Unfortunately a scrappy effort from a corner was bundled in to make it all even. Almost immediately Carryduff went back up the pitch to take the lead after a great strike by Oisin.
Chances came and went for both teams with Josh and Cain unlucky not to score more. Celtic Boys got a deserved equaliser despite valiant defending leaving the Carryduff boys disappointed that despite all their great work they were going home without a win. But not to be! A great challenge from Harry, who got it out it to Dan, moved it to Cain, and then Oisin who slipped it past the defender to Eoin who buried it for a well deserved win!
An excellent all round team effort which showed the progress they have made in this league. All that hard work on the training ground is starting to pay off. Well done boys!
