I am still scratching my head how we let this game get away from us,this was a very one sided game with Carnmoney scoring two late goals to leave with all three points.
Carryduff started this game at a high tempo and should have scored after only 2 minutes Declan Magee with an effort just wide after neat play from Odhran Sherry and a clever step over from Rory Timoney.
Jamie Wilkinson had a free kick saved by the keeper when he was tripped after a good run down the right he got up and hit the free kick which looked to be heading into the bottom corner before the keeper made a super stop.
Rory Timoney and Declan were combining well up front causing Carnmoney lots of problems, Carryduff took the lead after good persistence from Jamie down the right and when the ball broke to Rory he rounded the keeper and tucked the ball away with a quality finish.
The game was a one sided affair and it looked only a matter of time before we would double the score the midfield of Harry Graham, Rhys Worthington, Matthew O’Rourke and Joe Tunney were in control and creating plenty of chances.
Just before half time Ewan Wilson made a good save after a long ball over the top put the striker clear however Ewan made a fine stop diving to his right to keep the score at
1 – 0.
After the break Carnmoney came out with all guns blazing but our defence looked comfortable Aidan Martin , Eamon Swail , Jamie Wilkinson and man of the match Odhran Sherry dealt well with anything Carnmoney could create.
Rhys Worthington who has been carrying an injury was replaced by Joseph Tolan who had a good effort which looked to be heading in blocked by the defender on the line, Rory Timoney had another effort go narrowly wide after good work from Harry Graham who played Rory in and from a tight angle he shot just wide.
With fifeteen minutes remaining we made a couple of changes with Rory Gorman replacing Declan Magee and Gary Topping on for Rory Timoney at this point we had a couple of chances from a corner Aidan Martin having an effort blocked and from a free kick Joseph Tolan put a delightful ball into the back post but Jamie and Aidan couldnt get their head to the cross.
Out of nowhere Carnmoney got the equaliser when their midfielder picked the ball up in his own half he was allowed to advance before picking out a cross which was meet by a looping header which give Ewan in goal no chance, at this point we still went for the win which we would have deserved and got caught by a sucker punch after a foul down our left allowed Carnmoney to load the box when the cross fell to a Carnmoney player he had the simple task of firing home from close range to win the game and take all three points.
I thought we deserved to win this game with our performance for 60 minutes, but football can be a cruel game and we need to manage games better to see the game out.
