This was a closely fought match which ended up with Rosario running our eventual winners. The first half was a tightly fought affair with no one team dominating. There was not many clear chances created by either team with both defences holding firm. James Rodgers had his back four of Leo, Luke, Matthew and Frank well marshalled. In the middle of Eoin and Rory saw plenty of possession but both teams cancelled each other out for most of the half. In the last minute of the first half a moment of indecision in the Colts defence allowed the Rosario forward to round the keeper and steal a goal. A really disappointing end to the half for the Colts having played so well.
The second half started similarly to the first half with not many chances being created. As the half progressed the Colts started to come into the game more. Nice possession football through the middle led to a number of chances for Cain and Jack to get on the scoreboard. The equaliser eventually came Cain scored with a delicate chip and the Rosario defence failed to clear. The Colts were on top now and had a number of changes to go in front. With only minutes left the game looked destined for a draw only for Rosario to score a late winner. A disappointing result after having put so much into the game – another excellent performance by James Rodgers in nets.
