Seniors continue fine form
The Colts seniors made if four wins out of five with this comprehensive win over Ardglass at Lough Moss on Saturday.
The home side were dominant from the start and took the lead after 20 minutes through the in form Paul McWilliams who finished off a fine move involving Jordan Toal, James Erne and Fergus McBride.
Swifts had a couple of openings but goalkeeper Chris Overend, who has been in fine form all season, kept them at bay with the back four of Joe Sweeney, Paul Murphy, Rory McDonnell and Stevie Doherty resolute.
The second goal came following a great one-two between Adam Shilliday and Erne on the left and Shilliday applied the finishing touch stylishly driving low and hard into the bottom corner.
Erne’s pace was causing all sorts of problems for the visitors and he earned a penalty just before half time and striker Jordan Toal in his first appearance of the season made it three with a powerful strike into the top corner.
With the game won, the Colts took their foot off the gas in the second half and Ardglass pulled one back, But midfielder McWilliams with his fourth goal in the last four games made it four before top scorer Erne got on the end of a Michael Deeny free kick to score his sixth goal of the season.
